Exhibition 

I will be displaying my artwork at the Fort Saskatchewan Public Library from September to January.  Thank you everyone for your support to make this possible.  Love you and appreciate you so much!

I decided to use some plaster relief and gold for the painted part of the elephant.  I am so happy with how it turned out.

The book is starting to look more book-like!

Almost at the finish line with this tiny beetle! Just adding a clear high-gloss coat to give the shell that rich, glassy shine and make all the funky colors catch the light. 

This piece captures the beginning stage of a barn owl in flight, currently in the rough plaster phase. I used foam for the basic structure to ensure the sculpture remains lightweight. Next, I will be adding wire mesh to support the wingspan and anchor the feathers.

Each feather will be individually hand-shaped and allowed to dry, sometimes requiring additional support to hold its form. While it’s a slow, meticulous process, crafting the feathers as individual sculptures adds incredible detail and definition to the finished artwork."

This second piece in the Old Barn series brings a compelling contrast to the collection. The dramatic, darkened sky creates an intriguing mood, casting a deep, atmospheric intensity across the horizon. Against this moody backdrop, the textured bas-relief structure of the barn stands out in sharp relief, highlighting the weathered details of the wood and the quiet resilience of the rural landscape.  

It will still need the fence and 2 large trees but so far I love how it is evolving.

Working on the moose portrait has been a bit of a balancing act! To keep the piece lightweight while capturing the dramatic curve and mass of the antlers, I experimented with spray foam for the underlying core. It’s a great technique for building bulk without adding heavy weight, though learning to work around the single-use nature of the foam can requires some serious tactical planning. Halfway there, and excited to carve down the shape once it sets! 

I have had this project in mind for a while.  I do love otters but I think it is because they are cute and full of personality.  I wasn't able to capture the playfull personality in the basic sketch.  I finally found that they are more attractive underwater.  Maybe this on may need a coat of resin.

A dragonfly with more dragon than fly.  Im not sure about the wings but I love the way it fills the canvas.
